The Walgreen Company (Walgreens) is the largest[5] drug retailing chain in the United States. As of May 31, 2014, the company operated 8,217 stores in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands. It was founded in Chicago, Illinois, in 1901. The Walgreens headquarters office is in the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Illinois.





CVS Health Corporation, formerly CVS Caremark Corporation, is advising on prescriptions and helping manage chronic and specialty conditions. CVS Health includes the Company’s retail business, which is known as CVS/pharmacy; its pharmacy benefit management business, which is known as CVS/caremark; its walk-in medical clinics, CVS/minuteclinic; and its specialty pharmacy services, CVS/specialty. In September 2014, the Company purchased Navarro Discount Pharmacy, the Hispanic-owned drugstore chain in the United States.





GNC Holdings, Inc. (GNC) is a holding company. The Company is a global specialty retailer of health and wellness products. The Company has three segments: Retail, Franchise and Manufacturing/Wholesale. Corporate retail store operations are located in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and in addition the Company offers products domestically through GNC.com, LuckyVitamin.com and www.drugstore.com. Franchise stores are located in the United States and 54 international countries, including distribution centers where retail sales are made. The Company operates its primary manufacturing facilities in South Carolina and distribution centers in Arizona, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. The Company manufactures the majority of its branded products, but also merchandises various third-party products. It sells products through a worldwide network of more than 8,100 locations operating under the GNC brand name. In October 2013, the Company acquired A1 Sports Limited.

HLF、NUS：直銷公司

直銷公司的成本結構相當類似，
就毛利方面NUS 84%，HLF 80%。
Operating Expense(to revenue) NUS 66.7%，HLF 64.8%。
其中有30-45%是分給銷售的會員
(因會計科目使用不同，及中國的抽成部分含在SG&A內，
無法正確分出實際數字，看起來NUS會員的傭金應該比較高)。

產品部份
NUS最大產品是皮膚保養品22%，個人營養品18%。
HFL最大產品是體重管理食品63.5%

會員數HLF 3.7 Million(91國)，
NUS active會員1.3 Million (53國)

就區域分布而言
HLF：North America 18.8%，Mexico 11.7%，
South & Central America 20.2%，
EMEA 15.2%，Asia Pacific 24.3%，China 9.8%。

NUS：Greater China(含TW、HK) 43%，North Asia 27%，
South Asia 12%，Americas 12%，EMEA 6%。
NUS快變成中國公司了。

兩家公司2013在中國都有大幅成長 HLF 69.3%，NUS 292%

可能是成長太快惹來麻煩，NUS在中國被調查，
雖然公司最近宣布在中國的生意回復business as usual，
但從股價來看，投資人還是有疑慮。

HLF也不好過，Hedge Fund 經理人Bill Ackman宣示
到地球毀滅前，他都要跟HLF奮戰，
除了大量放空和在美國檢舉外，
他也發現HLF太分散，又是開曼公司，
即使美國受挫也不至於死，
最近又跑到中國檢舉，
要毀掉HLF未來成長的機會。

除了股價受挫外，HLF還得多花2,900萬美金打官司，
又是一筆大費用。
2013年KPMG向HLF辭職並撤回稽核意見，
HLF重新雇用PWC來re-audit又多花兩千萬。

除去煩人的訴訟，直銷公司還真的是好生意，
營收進來後才會產生費用。
不用太大的投資就可以有迅速的成長。
但世界各國對直銷逐漸加強規範。

如中國，要求公司要直接雇用員工，也需要有店面等要求，
更奇怪的是各省有發直銷牌照，
但又有規範公司不能做直銷，這是甚麼 ???
其實大原則就是，不能靠拉人頭給傭金，傭金比例也有上限。
違反即視為直銷，
除此之外，一些人誇大產品效用，也是中國政府加強管理的原因。

股價漲跌不可知, 盈再表可知買價是否便宜.
長期可否維持高 roe 可以預測！
自己控制好資金水位與持股比例即可.
長期三四年下來股價會展現他自身應有的價值！
